Rates and terms (dtrs tape transfer, adat tape transfer, dat tape transfer)

As outdated formats become obsolete, now is the time to save your music while you still can. We specialize in transferring digital tapes to high-quality audio files (.wav or .aif) to ensure your creative works live on.

Supported Tape Formats:

We can transfer your tapes from the following formats:

• DAT or R-DAT (Digital Audio Tape) – 2-Track
• ALESIS ADAT VHS Tapes – 8-Track (16 or 20-bit resolution)
• TASCAM DTRS (Digital Tape Recording System) – (DA-88, DA-38, DA-98, DA-78)
• 8-Track (16 or 24-bit resolution) on Hi-8mm Video Compact
• TASCAM PORTASTUDIO Cassette Tapes – 4-Track
• Cassette Tapes – 2-Track
• Microcassette

We capture audio at the original sample frequency and can deliver your files as Pro Tools, Digital Performer, or Logic session files if requested.

Note: A one-time $30 setup fee applies to all new clients.

DAT Tapes:

• DA-30: $45 (Minimum rate)
• DA-60: $75
• DA-90: $110
• DA-120: $140

ADAT Tapes (Up to 1 Hour Length) – Multi-machines have sample-accurate lock:

• 8-Track: $85
• 16-Track: $140
• 24-Track: $195
• 32-Track: $250
• 40-Track: $300
• 48-Track: $350

DTRS Tapes (Up to 2 Hour Length):

• 8-Track: $125
• 16-Track: $240
• 24-Track: $350
• 32-Track: $425
• 48-Track: $490

Cassette Tapes (4-Track TASCAM PORTASTUDIO):

• C-60 min: $110 (Minimum rate)
• C-90 min: $140

Timecode: A regenerated SMPTE timecode track is available for ADAT and DTRS tapes for an additional $40.

Special Handling for Extended DAT Tapes:

If you have an extended-length DAT tape and know the exact end time of your desired content, we can stop the transfer early. We charge $1.35 per minute of actual tape runtime.

For example:

• 10 minutes of content: $50 (Minimum rate applies)
• DA-90 tape with 47 minutes of content: $63.45 (47 x $1.35)
• DA-120 tape with 98 minutes of content: $132.30 (98 x $1.35) 

Please note: We do not repair damaged tapes on-site. However, we can arrange professional repair through our expert partners.

Turnaround Time:

Your tapes will be handled with care by experienced engineers. Standard turnaround time is approximately 2 weeks. Rush services are available upon request.

We deliver your files through WeTransfer by default. If you prefer, we can also copy your files to a hard drive or thumb drive (please include one with your shipment).

Files are only released once payment is made in full.

Shipping & Handling:

1. Email us immediately at info@OrganicTransfer.com with your tracking number and a description of the contents.
2. Let us know your shipping cost—we will return your tapes using your original carrier.
3. A $20 handling fee will be added to cover repacking and delivery to the shipping center.

Upon your approval of the delivered files, your original tapes will be returned (usually within ~30 days).

File Retention Policy:

We will keep your files on our hard drives for 60 days after delivery. Be sure to make backup copies on at least three separate drives or cloud services to protect your creative work.
